Taking back control of my content
This year marks 20 years since I moved away from various free web hosting services that I was using (such as Geocities and Hypermart) and established a permanent personal web site. Over the years I have lost a substantial amount of content as other social media sites have closed down, and have decided that 2020 will be the year where I adopt a POSSE approach to my content and publish here first.
A ride down Putty Road
Putty Road is a 168km road that runs from Wilberforce in Sydney's North West up to Singleton in the Hunter Valley. It only just re-opened after the NSW fires, so I decided to go for a ride to support Grey Gum and survey the damage.
George the talking clock lives on
Ever since I was a child I've been dialing '1194' to hear the dulcet tones of Richard Peach enunciate the time. Sadly Telstra closed down this service at the end of September 2019 but I have managed to re-create it.
First ride of 2020
One of my favourite things to do to clear my head is go on an early morning motorbike ride. Today I went on a ride to Balmoral Beach for breakfast.
Fake Phone Numbers in Australia
Just like the "555" range in North America, Australia also has a set of fictitious numbers that are reserved where a "real" number is required.
USA Test Phone Numbers
I have now expanded my test phone number to the USA which does caller ID read back, echo test, and more.
