Uber launches scheduled rides

As a regular user of Uber, I find that one of the biggest downsides is that I still need to find and maintain relationships with drivers when I want the knowledge that someone will be ready and waiting for me when I really need a car — typically on those trips to and from the airport.

For that reason I’m glad to see that Uber have launched scheduled rides — a way to book your ride in advance.

The rollout starts immediately in Seattle followed by other cities but is only available on UberX at the moment.

In my home city (Sydney) I’ll keep using my regular driver but in other cities it’ll be great to have one less thing to worry about.

I’ve signed up for early access and look forward to seeing how it works.

If you don’t already have an Uber account, you can sign up using promo code uberswewing. You’ll get $10 towards your first ride (and I’ll get $10 too).
