A visit to the Qantas First lounge

Rated as one of the best First class airline lounges in the world, a visit to the Qantas First lounge is the perfect way to relax before your international flight.

Access to the lounge is available to passengers flying First class on a oneworld airline, Qantas Platinum frequent flyers or oneworld Emerald frequent flyers (regardless of flying class). The two flagship Qantas First lounges are in Sydney and Melbourne; today I’ll be in the Sydney lounge.

The flight after this visit is a short 3.5 hour trip to Wellington, so with my boarding pass for Business seat 1F in hand I found a seat on my usual recliner where I made myself comfortable with a glass of champagne. Alas my previous favourite the Bollinger Rose is no longer behind the bar so I settled on Veuve Cliquot instead.

After a few more glasses of champagne I decided to move over to the lounge’s restaurant and have a quick lunch before my flight.

The entree that I selected was the special. A salad of smoked salmon, tuna and mango. This was accompanied by champagne.
After the entree I moved onto my main. Today I selected another special, the duck with soy and fresh greens accompanied by a glass of Pinot Noir.
For dessert I decided to try the cheese platter, accompanied by a glass of De Bortoli Noble One Botrytis Semillon.

All of the meals were fantastic as usual.

After lunch, feeling very satisfied I decided to make my way back to the recliner where I relaxed until my flight started boarding. Another excellent visit.
