Fake Phone Numbers in Australia

We’ve all seen the ubiquitous “555” numbers when watching movies and TV shows set in North America.

Fictitious phone numbers are important in media to avoid situations such as people receiving calls on 867-5309 looking for “Jenny” or calling Bruce Almighty on 776-2323.

A little known fact however is that Australia also has a similar set of fictitious phone numbers that have been designed for use in film, TV, and radio but can also be used for other purposes (eg: I use them in documentation).
