Would the last person in Sydney please turn the lights out?

Today’s reading is Would the last person in Sydney please turn the lights out? by Matt Barrie.

An opinion piece into the changing landscape of Sydney – bogged down by ever increasing bureaucracy. So much so that despite living in the middle of Sydney’s Kings Cross that I don’t even go out after dinner anymore.

These days I’ll usually host events on my balcony at home where I don’t need my ID to be scanned, and I’m not going to get grief from a bartender if I want my nightcap scotch served neat in glassware.

Of course that’s until I’m required to apply for a license to have a few friends over for a feed and some drinks.
